Amazing New Studies on Chaga!

Did you know that NordicNordic was founded from the illness that Nina suffered and her road to recovery with the help of Finnish chaga?

When we started to build our brand, we wondered if people were courageous and open-minded enough to learn about the benefits of medicinal mushrooms. Now, 7 years later as we leave the pandemic behind us, it is great to see that medical researchers are still fascinated by the possibilities of using chaga as a treatment tool.

PubMed -database published two new studies that cover chaga's role in the treatment of both cancer and Long-Covid.

Chaga and Cancer

Medicinal mushrooms have been used in homeopathic and traditional medicine around the world for hundreds of years, especially in China and other Asian countries. Mushrooms are seen as a diverse and effective treatment for growths and tumors and in China, Russia, Japan, and Korea specifically for cancer.

Current cancer treatments often cause strong negative side effects and at times harm healthy cells. The need for targeted treatment of cancer cells and strengthening of the immune system is great. Mushrooms are rich in bioactive compounds that medical researchers have high expectations in finding alternative treatments.

Chaga and the compounds that have been able to be extracted have effects on stomach, intestinal, liver, breast, lung, and skin cancers as well as leukemia that has been studied in cell and other research. It has been shown that tumor growth and spread can be weakened and slowed down and the immune system can be strengthened as well as the cancer cell death rate increased.

Chaga is seen as a promising treatment option for cancer but the exact mechanisms are still being studied.

Chaga and Long Covid

Chaga mushroom use enhances specific innate immunity and assists in lowering proinflammatory cytokines like interleukin-6 (IL-6), IL-10, tumor-necrosis factor α (TNF-α), and monocyte chemoattractant protein (MCP). Chaga's property assists in reducing the case fatalities of COVID-19 imposed by the “cytokine storm,” which leads to uncontrollable amplification and recruitment of inflammatory cytokines and immune cells to combat the infection, resulting in organ damage and death.

The current study results revealed that Chaga mushroom components demonstrate strong binding interaction with the S1-carboxy-terminal domain of the SARS-CoV-2 RBD; thus, this natural product shows promise in interacting with the viral spike protein.

Chaga mushroom could prove to be a health-promoting booster in severe COVID-19 cases, particularly in patients who develop excessive inflammation. Therefore, laboratory-based studies and clinical trials could reveal prospects for the development of natural antiviral therapeutics.

We fully stand behind the research because we know from personal experience how chaga heals and strengthens the body. It's important to note that while chaga is amazing, it's important to take into account the growing environment as well as the processing of the mushroom.

If the tree that the mushroom is harvested from grows near a road, the mushroom absorbs air pollution and exhaust around it. If the mushroom is not processed at the correct temperature, the active medicinal ingredients and benefits can be lost.

It matters which chaga product you use and add to your daily diet!

We can promise that the NordicNordic Instant Chaga is the purest chaga in the world. It's handpicked in arctic Lapland in Finland, dried during a low-temperature process that preserves all the active ingredients, and the chaga is dual extracted to make it strong and effective.

A tiny pinch, 1/8 tsp. a day is all you need to get all the amazing health benefits. You can increase the effectiveness by pairing chaga with vitamin C. Our favorite is freshly squeezed organic lemon.
