Eat Super Colors!

Hello everyone!

I hope the new year has started well and it brings you happiness, success and, before all else, healthiness.

While I was visiting Finland this past December, Nina and I decided to dive deeper into healthy pure colorful nutrition. As we learned more and more about the nutritional benefits, we decided this may be something you would be interested as well. It helped us develop our "theme" for 2017, Eat Super Colors! #eatsupercolors

superfood berries

We will be following nature's basic rule for 2017. Nature doesn't mess with colors. The strongest and brightest dominate, Super Colors :) As you know, naturally colorful food is almost always linked with good health. A good rule of thumb is to eat all the colors of the rainbow with some brown and white mixed in to give your body the most needed antioxidants possible.

But how will your body react to the major health benefits from the arctic berries after you add them to your daily diet? Are you ready to take the challenge like we did? The cold arctic winter and long midnight sun summer nights have created unique superfoods that you can easily add to your life.

Yellow & Orange

sea buckthorn

Our first color pairing to be highlighted is yellow & orange that's represented by our super berry, sea buckthorn. Sea buckthorn is one of the oldest wild berries in Finland, it's been found to have grown in Finland since the ice age ended!!! It has numerous health benefits including anti-inflammatory properties and high levels of antioxidants to protect you from free radicals. The bright orange color of the berry comes from the beta carotenoids that's been shown to protect your skin from the effects of sunlight among other things. Also, the various omega fatty acids help strengthen and heal your skin.

Yellow and orange colors are also said to be energizing because of the high vitamin-C level that give a boost to your body and help to protect you from stress. Orange is vital in today's hectic environment!

Here's our first #etsupercolors tip for you to use and incorporate in your daily nutrition.

sea buckthorn green smoothie

I combined orange NordicNordic sea buckthorn powder to help with healing any possible infections in your body. Green is known to be a cleansing color so this combo is great after all the overindulgence of the holidays.

Green Smoothie

2 handfuls of green leaf lettuce

handful of baby spinach

juice from 1/2 lemon

1 celery stalk

1 green apple

1/2 avocado

1 tbsp E3 Live Algae

spring water

top with a tbsp of sea buckthorn powder!

Stay tuned for more colorful tips coming up this year.

With health, Reeta
